Follow-up

Never lose sight of an important email

Following up on email in Outlook can quickly become difficult to manage. You read a message that requires action later, or you send an email and expect a reply. A few days later, the message has moved down your inbox and can easily disappear from view.

OAS makes follow-up easy to manage. Directly from an email, you can indicate whether you need to take action yourself or are waiting for a reply. At the same time, you choose when the follow-up is due.

Action required or waiting for a reply?

OAS distinguishes between two types of follow-up: Action required for messages that still require action from you, and Waiting for reply when you are expecting a response from someone else.

Simply choose today, tomorrow, in three days, next week or select your own date.

✓ Set follow-up directly from an email
✓ Distinguish between action and waiting for a reply
✓ Choose your own follow-up date
✓ View open and overdue follow-ups in one overview
✓ Open or reply to a message directly from OAS

Automatically detect when a reply arrives

For an email where you expect a reply, select Waiting for reply in OAS. The follow-up remains visible in your overview until a response is received.

If the reply arrives while Outlook is running, OAS detects it automatically. The corresponding follow-up is completed and disappears from the list of open actions. You no longer need to keep track of which messages have already received a response.

This makes following up on email in Outlook much easier: OAS not only helps you remember which replies you are still waiting for, but also keeps track of when follow-up is no longer necessary.

See what needs your attention today

OAS brings all your open follow-ups together in one overview. You can immediately see which messages still require action from you, which emails you are still waiting for a reply to and which follow-ups are already overdue.

With email follow-up in Outlook, you can immediately see which messages require action today, which emails are still awaiting a reply and which follow-ups are already overdue.

Has your schedule changed? You can easily postpone a follow-up and choose a new date. Once an action has been completed, you can mark it as finished immediately. From the overview, you can also open the original message or write a reply straight away.

When Outlook starts, OAS can also notify you when follow-ups are due today or are already overdue. This means you do not have to keep checking whether something still requires your attention.

Prevent follow-ups from becoming overdue unnoticed

Marking an email for follow-up is most useful when you can also see when action is required. OAS therefore monitors the selected date for every open follow-up. Once that date has passed, the message is clearly shown as Overdue in the overview.

This means you no longer have to search through old emails to check whether there was something you still needed to respond to. The OAS Dashboard also shows at a glance how many follow-ups require action from you, how many replies are still outstanding and how many follow-ups are overdue.

Don’t have time to deal with a message today? You can postpone the follow-up to a new date. The message simply remains in the overview and appears again when it requires your attention.

This allows you to use OAS as a practical overview alongside your mailbox, without needing a separate task management application.

Outlook itself provides options for using Tasks in Outlook to manage actions and tasks. OAS takes a different approach: the follow-up remains directly linked to the email message that requires your action or for which you are still expecting a reply. This allows you to manage follow-up as part of your daily email workflow.

Ready to keep better track of your email?

Let OAS keep track of what you still need to do and which replies you are waiting for. This keeps email follow-up in Outlook clear and prevents important actions or replies from disappearing among other messages.

With OAS, email follow-up in Outlook becomes part of your daily workflow, without having to maintain separate lists or reminders yourself.
