Configure OAS in a few steps
In Configuration, you can configure OAS for your Outlook environment. Here you can choose the language and default mailbox, specify which Outlook folders OAS uses and set the location for your email archives.
The configuration consists of four sections: General, Outlook, Email Archive and Storage Locations.
1. Configure general OAS settings
On the General tab, you can configure the basic OAS settings.
Language
Choose the language in which OAS is displayed. OAS is currently available in seven languages.
Mailbox
Select the mailbox that OAS uses by default for its features.
Enable logging
Logging helps to analyse any problems that may occur. The log files can be opened from the Storage Locations tab.
After making a change, click Save to save the settings.
2. Configure Outlook
On the Outlook tab, you can specify how OAS works with your mailbox and Inbox Cleanup.
Under Outlook folders, you can set the default archive folder and the folder used for Inbox Cleanup.
Under Inbox Cleanup, you can specify whether read emails are included, whether processed messages are marked as read and whether the Cleanup category is added.
Under Follow-up, you can configure OAS to automatically display an overview when Outlook starts if there are outstanding or overdue follow-ups.
3. Configure Email Archive
On the Email Archive tab, you can choose the location where OAS stores the email archives it creates.
Use Browse to select a different archive location. Use Open archive location to open the configured folder directly in Windows File Explorer.
You can also enable Automatic Email Archive and specify how often and at what time OAS automatically archives your email.
Automatic archiving runs while Outlook is open.
4. Storage Locations
The Storage Locations tab provides an overview of the files and folders used by OAS.
Here you will find the OAS data folder, log files, database and configuration file. Click Open to view the relevant location directly.
You can also specify how many days log files are retained and export the configuration file.
Ready to use OAS?
Once you have configured these sections, the basic OAS configuration is complete. You can reopen these settings at any time via OAS → Configuration.
